Two members of the Muslim Coalition Of Connecticut will our guests tonight on the Watchdog News Hour starting at 6 p.m. at www.OnTheHORN.com.
Dr. Reza Mansoor, a cardiologist at Hartford Hospital, Trustee of Hartford Seminary and a former president of the Coalition, will be one guest.
Craig Phillips, who is pursuing his MA in Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary and is Program Coordinator of the Muslim Coalition, is our second guest.
He’s passionate about interfaith and inter-cultural relations, as well as dispelling misconceptions about Islam, the religion he embraced in 2006. A web guru, he currently serves as the Social Media Coordinator for the seminary.
Craig, originally from New York, speaks five languages and lives in Hartford with his wife, Mahdiye.
The Muslim Coalition of Connecticut is a non-profit organization that brings Muslims across the state together to educate the community about Islam through outreach, community service projects and other events.
The organization, formed in 2004 , has three major goals:
- Address youth Islamic identity.
- Build bridges with like socially responsible organizations.
- Counter the stereotypes in a proactive way through a speakers bureau.
Currently Rabia Chaudry, an immigration attorney from Bloomfield, serves as president of the MCCT.
Tracy Simmons, editor of www.Creedible.com, will co-host the program with me.
