Michael Isakoff of Simsbury had no service from Comcast for 15 days after the Oct. 31 storm.
It seems completely reasonable to expect some reimbursement for our paying for a service that we did not receive during those 2 weeks.![]()
“I am currently on the phone with Comcast,” he wrote me today. “They are stating that no rebate will be given and that it is too late.”
I suggested he tell Comcast that he has contacted me and that I will send his complaint to the Attorney General. It did not help.
“I just spoke to the “most senior person” at the call center. His name is “David”. He would not give me a last name but did tell me his employee log-in number is 34390. He claimed he could not give a refund and that the company policy from the executives is that after December they could no longer give reimbursements.”
“This seems absurd to me. The company did not make it clear to customers that refunds would be available, so I did not even know to call.
“I could not find anything on their website about this. However, after reading your recent article I decided to call since it seems very reasonable to reimburse customers who paid for a service that they did not receive.
“I am shocked at their refusal to give a reimbursement. As noted below, we live in Simsbury and were without power for about 12 days. We were one of the last neighborhoods to get power back and upon doing so I immediately called Comcast since we did not have a working phone, in addition to cable and internet. They could not give us a time frame to turn service back on. After 3 days my wife flagged down a Comcast van down the road. The driver was nice enough to log in our info and later that day we did get service restored.

From Mike today
Got a call last night from a very nice and appropriate representative from the VP office at Comcast. They gave the credit and were very apologetic for how they treated me. As an offer of good faith they re-packaged my services to save me money monthly.
I appreciated the call and was happy with how they handled it in the end. It was good service recovery…but sad that it needed to happen.
I am concerned that most folks do not know to call them to get the credit and I suspect there are many ill informed employees at the bottom. Most people are probably not persistent and are missing out on getting their money back.
Thanks!
Mike
