If I understood what I read, this will only apply to very limited situations: sales calls, which are already illegal to numbers on the DNC lists. Such as those moronic, “your auto warranty is about to expire!” It stops the big legitimate name brand companies, but the fly-by-night scam companies call at will.

We are no the DNC list and still get these calls occasionally, esp. since the FCC does next to nothing as far as enforcement goes. So what’s changed?

WHO, with ANY intelligence, thinks that THIS is going to work? The telemarketers will ignore this law just like they ignore the DO NOT CALL LIST and the Caller ID Law of 2009 that says the calling company must provide a working number to pop up on your Caller ID. It’s ALL a JOKE to make it look like the FCC is REALLY doing something for US! If they had ANY guts, they would MAKE the phone companies do something about all these FAKE numbers they use!

I am SURE that if these calls were coming into the White House or Obama’s cell phone, THEY would have a way to trace the number fake or not! Instead all we get is excuses, excuses, excuses and the calls continue. I report EVERY SINGLE one to the FTC, but it does NO good. They must have a FILE CABINET full with just my complaints! Even Cong. DeLauro can’t get an answer from the FTC! I just recevived a letter from her last week stating that she is still waiting for a response from the FTC since DECEMBER! One more USELESS law!

Here’s an interesting article. Glad I’m not the ONLY one complaining to the FTC with EVERY unwanted call that I receive.
