U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro says the Food and Drug Administration is favoring corporate interests over those of patients in new changes to its process for approving medical devices according to a column this week in the Connecticut Health I-Team report.
DeLauro, who has a hip implant, is ranking member of the subcommittee with jurisdiction over the FDA. She expressed belief that “industry concerns” kept the agency from adopting stronger requirements of manufacturers of medical devices.

I am sure U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro is right. Every time I go to the grocery store, I am amazed at the wild claims made on the food labels, especially in the cereal isle. The food and drug admin also allows them to get pretty creative with the nutrition labels.
It will say 4 grams of sugar per serving, but then you notice the serving size is 1/3 cup. Who eats 1/3 cup!
