Electronic Cigarettes Are Unsafe And Can Damage Your Lungs

So much for the fantasy that e;electronics cigarettes only explode once in a while can cause no other health hazards.

“Electronic cigarettes cause damage to the lungs, according to a study that challenges earlier research suggesting the devices to quit smoking are harmless,” according to Bloomberg News.

“E-cigarettes, electronic tubes that simulate the effect of smoking by producing nicotine vapor, caused an immediate increase in airway resistance, lasting for 10 minutes, making it harder for participants to breathe, researchers from the University of Athens said in a study presented at the European Respiratory Society annual meeting in Vienna recently.”

“We do not yet know whether unapproved nicotine delivery products, such as e-cigarettes, are safer than normal cigarettes, despite marketing claims that they are less harmful,” Christina Gratziou, one of the study authors, said in a statement. “This research helps us to understand how these products could be potentially harmful.”

  1. I am an everyday E- Cig smoker….I never feel winded…is that all the new info the study had to offer?

  2. My question would be what do e cigs do to the kids who are next to the parents smoking them???

    • There is no smoke. It’s vaporized nicotine. The only thing an e-cig affects is the person using the device.

  3. What this study doesn’t explain is what nicotine does to your lungs regardless of how it is inhaled. There are other alternative / Quitting methods such as the nicotine inhalers. If a person needs nicotine, they will use what works for them. Studies and obvious fact says that e-cigarettes are a healthier option all around by eliminating the thousands of poisonous substances.

  4. I’ve been using e-cigarettes for a couple of months and my breathing has improved. Here’s a news flash our lung function is in constant decline due to airborne pollutants. If you can’t stop smoking e-cigarettes may be the answer for you. I know all the research isn’t in yet, but cutting out the tar, carbon monoxide, and benzine found in regular cigarettes has to be an improvement for many.
