Acetaminophen – and its name brand form Tylenol is effective and safe, but if you take too much it can lead to acute liver failure.

The British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology recently reported a study showing that exceeding the recommended maximum daily amount for a lengthy period can be even more dangerous than taking a massive amount at once.

So limit your daily intake to 4,000 mg over a 24 hour period and check all the pain killers, cold medication and cough medication to see whether you are taking Acetaminophen in more than one medication.
