I had an alarm system installed at my house in 2008. I was aware that I had a 3 year contract
In July of 2011 I called the company that I wanted to cancel the service. They told me that I couldn’t cancel because they automatically signed me up for another year. They said that I signed for automatic renewal so I could not cancel.
What could I do to make sure that they don’t sign me up again in July of this year?
I never heard of a company that can automatically renew the service without my knowledge. They didn’t give me any notice that they were signing me up. If so,at that point I would have cancelled.
The name of the company is VIVINT. They took over the company that I signed with which was APEX some time in 2010.
