Proflowers.com, with its heavy advertising on Facebook and in other places, says you can buy a dozen roses for $19.99.
Unfortunately you don’t find out until you go to the last page of the Internet checkout that with shipping and handling, the cost is $49.99.
Go take a drive around your city and odds are someone is selling roses for a lot less.

First time ever that FedEx is shipping on a Sunday (For Proflowers) – http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/feb/12/fedex-pro-flowers-team-valentines-day-deliveries/
Saturday deliveries usually cost more than a normal delivery (FedEx usually ships just air), especially since flowers/food are perishables. Probably around $20-$25 a ship…which means that Sunday probably costs more than that.
On the roses themselves, you probably got a decent deal, since roses aren’t in bloom this time of the year…
I ordered 24 red roses from 1-800-Flowers and had them delivered by a florist with free shipping using a promotion. Why would I get flowers in a box left on a frozen doorstep and pay $30 shipping??
