Ancenstry Gene Tests: Take It With Salt

If an ancestry gene testy tells you that George Washington was a relative, it may or may not be true.

A report published in the American Journal of Human Genetics says the tests leave a lot to be desired.

“Companies that sell gene tests to help people trace their lineage offer “no quality assurance guarantee” and should strengthen the science behind their services, researchers led by a Duke University scientist said,” according to a Bloomberg News article by Molly Peterson.
