Back to school suggestion: Pulse Smartpen

pulse_paperIf your son or daughter is going into high school, college or graduate school there is one present I can recommend without any hesitation: the digital Pulse Smartpen by Livescribe — $150 to $200 depending on the size of the memory.

Using special paper, the Pulse pen takes digital images of what you write and what is said and transfers both to your computer. When you touch a word with the pen on the paper or you move your cursor over the word in your computer, whatever was said at the time will be replayed.

For a doctor, lawyer, business person, college student, high school students, journalists, therapists, it’s a tool that will make their lives much easier.

Target, Amazon and Costco carry them, or you can order directly from Livescribe.

So instead of having to take copious notes of a lecture or a conversation or a meeting, you can write only the key words, focus on what is being said, and you still have a record of everything.

I have used the pen in many interviews and found it to work GREAT.
