Being a softy when it comes to animals, I decided against having “The Bear” and his misnamed sister “Angel” de-clawed when I got them as 8 week olds.
We are paying for it now, as they are enjoying sharpening their claws on our stuffed chairs and rugs.
We have literally spent hundreds of dollars on sprays, double sided tape, scratching posts, and scratching boxes – all worked only so so.
Last week at Target I saw the small 14 by 18 inch Scratch Nip made by SmartyKay. It is like a rug, with a pocket on the other side you can fill with kitty ganja.
Bear and Angel liked it so much I bought two more – about $11 each – and we are keeping our fingers crossed that they will be higher than kites and leave our furniture and rugs alon.
