Toyota, which has taken a beating over the past year for failure to act promptly on crucial safety defects, was cleared today of serious accusations that there might be a link between electronic throttles and unintended acceleration.
“There is no electronic-based cause for unintended high-speed acceleration in Toyotas,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement about the world’s largest auto manufacturer.
