I am simply posting Rick Green’s blog tonight and let the readers decide what is fact and what is fiction.

Consumer blogger Gombossy is up off the mattress and trying to breath new life into the sagging Blumenthal-lied-about-Vietnam story. Gombo dialed up Chris Shays, who describes himself as a good friend of the attorney general, to see if the former Connecticut congressman could recover any new memories of Blumenthal blunders he witnessed, dreamed, imagined or heard about on Fox News.

Former Congressman Thought Blumenthal Fought In Vietnam After Listening To Numerous Speeches To Veteran Groups

Former Connecticut Congressman Chris Shays said tonight that he became convinced that Attorney General Richard Blumenthal was a “combat veteran” of the Vietnam war after listening to numerous speeches that Blumenthal and he gave to veteran organizations over the years.

In a telephone interview with me, Shays said Blumenthal never outright said he was in Vietnam but by frequently using the “we” word in discussing combat and service in Vietnam it was clear to him what Blumenthal was intimating.

“He was giving the impression that he was in the fight,” said Shays, who clearly was uncomfortable discussing this issue.

AP Takes Blumenthal Side In Vietnam Service False Claims

The Associated Press – where most Americans get their state-wide and national news – is taking Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal’s side by constantly using Blumenthal’s version as fact, instead of using more neutral words….

Blumenthal, Media Failed The Public In Their Spins On The AG’s Vietnam Service

We all had an opportunity to watch how both Ct Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and the media handle an explosive political hot potato as the New York Times revealed Monday that on numerous occasions the enforcer of Connecticut laws lied when he either indicated or flat out said he served in Vietnam.

The New York Times had him cold with a video that Blumenthal was unaware was being shot at a gathering two years ago where he told the crowd he had been in Vietnam, newspaper clips where he said the same on other occasions, and a fellow politician saying he heard Blumenthal tell the same tale so often he too was convinced that Blumenthal had worn his Marine uniform in Saigon.

Blumenthal Needs To Admit He Lied About Being In Vietnam If He Wants To Remain Credible

As much as I personally like Ct Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and believe he has done much to protect consumers and veterans, his ability to continue to effectively serve as the state’s lawyer is jeopardized.

As long as he claims it was only a slip of the tongue that led to his saying he was in Vietnam during the war is so ludicrous that only his most ardent supporters and those who don’t know U.S. history will swallow it.

I have watched the FULL tape (which is on this site) of his 2008 speech.

Ct Humane Society President Chris White Again Caught Telling Fairy Tales

The controversial new president of the Connecticut Humane Society has again been caught spinning/fibbing/or ignorance – you decide.

Its not unusual for some newspaper publishers to make up stuff (Courant for instance), but to do it as blatantly and as stupidly as Life Publications owner Chris White does stands out.

You can simply search his name on CtWatchdog and find the other instances where his comments as chairman of the Connecticut Humane Society has had little relationship with reality, but here I will point out the latest: fully documented.

One of the major issues has been the Society’s Board of Directors refusing to meet with staff members who were fired for union activities.
