Blumenthal Ducks Giving Direct Answers To His False Military Claims

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal sidestepped giving direct answers to his false claims that he served in Vietnam as a Marine.

Blumenthal was the guest speaker today at the Litchfield-Morris Rotary Club where I asked him how he could have accidentally told veterans that he served in Vietnam. YOU CAN NOW SEE IT ON YOUTUBE ON OUR SITE

He simply repeated that he made unintentional comments a handful of times where he accidentally said he was in Vietnam instead of served during the Vietnam War.

He offered no explanation on why at least two people, including former Congressman Chris Shays, said he heard Blumenthal on numerous occasions give speeches where he not only said he was in Vietnam but indicated he was in combat.

He simply said he was proud of his service and was sorry that he did not speak correctly on a few occasions.

Blumenthal did not directly challenge Shays’ statement nor the photographers’ statement, nor did he challenge my statement that he did all he could to avoid being sent into any combat area.

“I am pround that I served” in the Reserves,” Blumenthal responded.

“I made mistakes in the way I that described that service incorrectly on a limited number of occasions out of literally hundreds,” he said adding that he intentionally said he was in Vietnam when he meant to say he served during the Vietnam War.

“I regret those mistakes,” he said. “They were unintentional. Ii take full responsibility for them, and most important I am sorry.”

I then asked him how it was possible for anyone to have maybe dozens of times falsely say they were in Vietnam, telling him that it would be like me misstating that I was born in China.

“You know you weren’t in Vietnam, you known that you had no intention to go to Vietnam and you didn’t want to go to Vietnam, so how does one unteltionally tell veterans that you were in Vietnam? I think the public would like an answer.”

“On a limited number of occasions, so far I think there may have been a handful  despite what may have been said, I said that  I was in Vietnam said rather than in the Vietnam era,” Blumenthal replied. “That was a mistake and regardless of the number of times …I regret it. I am sorry and that it was unintentional is no excuse. I take full responsibility and will continue to fight for veterans.”

No one else from the rotary club or from the media followed up my questions. Infact the next person to ask a question, a Rotarian, prefaced it by saying that he was now going to ask an actually important question, one about the economy.

So obviously the Attorney General’s false claims its not an issue that many people care about.

SHOCKING REVELATION, Richard Blumenthal hides behind words and does not tell the truth. What did you expect?

The only question that matters is: Will the people of CT elect Richard Blumenthal to the US Senate knowing he is a liar? I think they will.

The people of Hartford elected King Eddie knowing he was a crook. All the facts, with the exception of his reading inability, were out prior to the election.

  2. It seems like you and a couple of right wingers are the only ones who seem to be banging on this old drum. Bet you felt real good asking him those questions George? What kind of answer did you expect? He said, repeatedly over the past two months by the way that he was sorry that the message was delivered the way it was. I’m not sure what more you want?

Perhaps he should resign his current position and not run for any office? Perhaps he should lose his job, then go into hiding? Is that what you want?

Has the state, and it’s people, benefited from his work over the past years? If so…how about we move on eh?

Dwelling on this one tires issue as you have only makes you look like the fringe element that sometimes posts here. I think you are better than that.

Well Tim I appreciate you reading my material and taking the time to write. I allow for all kinds of opinions as comments as long as they are civil, even if they come from fringe elements from ALL sides.

    Sorry George you’re the fringe.

  4. Since our choices are RB or McMahon, we don’t have a lot of options here. Will you choose the liar with a track record of good service or the self-funded misogynistic purveyor of theatrical hyperviolence, rape, and necrophilia? Tell us, George, what is your choice? And have you equally dogged McMahon regarding what in her twisted world has made her Senator material?

    From Jim
I appreciate your work on attempting to find out information to confirm what Blumenthal stated about his investigation of Goggle.

But there are other instances where he made a “grandstand” event to announce a big investigation and then that is the last that we hear about it. An example occurred in May of 2009. Gasoline prices had again started to increase. The AG then announced that he would start an investigation to see what the causes of this increase were. It has been over fifteen (15) months now and we have not heard another word from him about his “investigation.”

Someone should also examine a number of court decisions where the Conn. Supreme Court held that he had no authority to take the particular action that was the subect of the lawsuit. I am told there are at least six (6) to (7) cases where this has happened.

This guy is all smoke and mirrors and has hoodwinked the citizens of this state for too many years now. When he was running for AG there wasn’t any impetus behind anyone to check out if he was a good AG. Now that it is a US Senate seat at stake and bigger things are at issue, finally people are starting to question whether he is (was) as good as he told us he was.

This guy is a menace to the State of Connecticut.

    Jim

  7. most politicians lie about something …what I won’t do is vote for a man/woman who has already lied and calls it mispeaking…keep up the good work …shake those bushes and get the truth out no matter what others say!!!
