  1. It so clear what a loss of important business and consumer interest coverage The Hartford Courant has had since George walked out the door. I think they look even more guilty by trying to deny they fired you over your investigative report on Sleepys. It’s a sad state of affairs for CT Media – thank goodness the CT reader at least has this publication to count on for news that isn’t influenced by ads.

    George,
You deserved to be treated so much better than the way you were treated by Graziano and everyone else at the Courant that had something to do with you being swept under the rug and out of the Courant completely.
CT readers and consumers made your Watchdog articles one of the favorite and most read pieces in the Courant. All of us expected you to continue with those investigative pieces and I assure you that none of your readers cared if they advertised in the Courant. We wanted, and deserved, to see what you found about companies, etc in your investigations.
It wasn’t bad enough that the Courant fired so many great reporters and commentators about the time that Graziano took over and since. But to take one of the most popular and read reporters and stop him from continuing to investigate and report to us what he found out about businesses was crazy! You not only informed us but with your continued probing the companies (like Best Buy and CL & P), you made officials at those businesses change bad business practices and even had the Attorney General get involved with making the businesses do right by consumers.
The Courant was stupid to let you go but I am so glad that you continued to inform consumers at the CT Watchdog online. Your articles about the CT Humane Society started telling residents about what was going on there, even having Blumenthal pick up the case, pressuring the President to leave and hopes that huge changes will be made in the treatment of animals AND people who work and volunteer there. You have done so much to help readers. Thank you so much for continuing to inform and help us!!!
