For some, the unprecedented public release of a sensitive document from the the personnel file of a Connecticut assistant attorney general raises the question of whether Richard Blumenthal or his cronies tried to improperly bury…
It is almost month since Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal announced that he is heading a multi-state investigation into Google’s Street View.
Yes, despite weekly claims that he would reveal the identities of those state the following week, as of today not one state has been identified by Blumenthal as having asking him to head up an investigation – a probe his office initially indicated included about 30 states.

In a powerful story by reporters Chris Serres and Glenn Howatt, the two explain how debtors can end up in jail in some states where creditors rule.
Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal sidestepped giving direct answers to his false claims that he served in Vietnam as a Marine.
Blumenthal was the guest speaker today at the Litchfield-Morris Rotary Club where I asked him how he could have accidentally told veterans that he served in Vietnam.
State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal’s office Wednesday made public a sensitive document from the personnel file of Assistant Attorney General Richard Hine that raises questions about Hine’s credibility.

While Courant columnist Rick Green and I vehemently disagree about state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal’s continued suitability to be Connecticut’s Top Legal Officer after his lies about Vietnam military service, Green and I are on the same page when it comes to Martha Dean, the Avon attorney who is making another run at the Attorney General’s post.
In Green’s column today headlined “Martha Dean, A Candidate Who Shoots From The Hip,” she is diplomatically described as a fringe candidate.
I don’t mince my words (perhaps that is why my attorney Joe Garrison of New Haven keeps urging me to take out libel insurance for my “intemperate” comments).
I think Dean is a whack job.
The more she talks about her beliefs, and how she would run the state Attorney General’s office, the more you are going to see that she might even make some Tea Party members cringe.
I first wrote about Dean, who had run unsuccessfully against Blumenthal in 2002, earlier in the year when she announced that she would run again this year.
In her press conference announcing her candidacy, said she would run a much different, less anti-business office.

One of the largest medical practices in Connecticut is under investigation by the state attorney general’s office for its billing practices after two patients were thrown out for creating a fuss over being charged additional office visit fees as part of their routine physicals.
Two West Hartford residents were told by Dr. Kent Stahl, CEO of Hartford Medical Group, which serves 50,000 patients, that they were no longer welcome in the practice.
